THE FEAR PROTOCOL

The Fear Protocol is a method I developed for myself to deal with panic attacks at night, and general anxiety over health and money issues any time.

When anxieties mount, It feels like your emotions are taking over.  It's getting control over the thoughts buzzing through your head and calming your breathing that makes the difference.

And I won't fool you. It isn't easy. Getting on top of anxiety and fear involves a discipline of the mind. But when we're in physical pain, stress and anxiety only serve to heighten pain. They don't really solve anything or make anything better.

The mind wants to think that worrying is the same as doing something, and if you don't worry it means you don't care, or you aren't paying attention, or you're not working on making it better. But it's really not so. Worry doesn't do a darn thing to make anything actually change. In fact, it can contribute to loss of sleep, spikes in pain, and overwhelm.

See if you can work through The Fear Protocol as slowly and calmly as possible, doing several passes at once, if necessary, to develop a kind of discipline of the mind which will return you to a more stable, calm state. It's better for your health, and it's a more resourceful state from which to make choices.
